Union College Permanent Collection

The Union College Permanent Collection holds over 2,500 works of art and artifacts. Selections of the collection are installed in public and administrative areas campus wide. As an academic resource at Union College, the permanent collection's mission is to "acquire, preserve, interpret, exhibit and otherwise provide access to works of art" and to enhance the academic programs and the cultural life of the Union College Community at large.

Twentieth-century American and European works on paper - including prints, photographs, drawings, artists books and portfolios -represent the strengths of the fine art holdings of the permanent collection. Other holdings in American and European art, as well as in Asian art, furniture, antique apparatus, biological specemines, and pre-Columbian and ancient collections, enhance a diverse and eclectic collection. Currently, the focus of acquisitions for the permanent collection is works on paper.
