Electronic ClassroomsMany classrooms across campus have instructor and student computers available for use. These electronic classrooms are located in the following buildings or halls: Arts Building, Bailey Hall, Humanities Building, Olin Building, Science and Engineering Building, Steinmetz Hall, Social Sciences Building, and Taylor Music Center. These rooms may be scheduled through Central Scheduling. Public Computing FacilitiesThe Computing Lab (Steinmetz Room 100) functions as an open public lab with Macintosh and Windows computers for students. The Steenstrup Multimedia Lab (Steinmetz Room 110) is equipped with video and audio editing workstations to support campus video projects. Both of these labs are open 24 hours, 7 days a week and Union ID cards are required for access to these labs.
FCRC (Faculty Computer Resource Center)The FCRC is a faculty-only space for instructional technology development and consulting. The space is supported by professional staff, and is open to faculty 24 hours, 7 days a week. Union ID cards are required for access.
HelpdeskThe Helpdesk is designed to be the primary point of contact for faculty. Its purpose is to receive problem reports, requests, and questions regarding computing at Union College. You can email the Helpdesk at helpdesk@union.edu with your day-to-day computing issues. If your support need is urgent, call extension 6400. The Helpdesk is located in Steinmetz Room 104. Minerva RoomsEach of the seven Minerva Houses have seminar rooms that are equipped with technology which allows for faculty to use a laptop or play a DVD or VHS tape. These rooms may be scheduled through Central Scheduling. |
