Hardware Support

Faculty/Staff Office Computers

  • Triage all hardware problems with computers, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Coordinate sending faculty equipment out for repair.
  • Perform basic upgrades such as installing memory, hard drives, etc. Install printers, scanners, and other computer peripherals.
  • Relocate compute equipment.

Faculty/Staff Personal Computers

  • ITS only supports hardware owned by Union College.We do not provide any hardware support for personally owned computers, even if they are used for academic purposes.
  • ITS can recommend local computer service & repair firms.
  • Additionally, the Bookstore has the ability to service computers that were not purchased through the Bookstore. Please contact Computer Sales at x2402 for more information.

Departmental Lab Computers

  • Each department is responsible for having a full-time employee in charge of labs. This person should do the initial triage of hardware problems.
  • ITS will provide back-up support.

Student Owned Computers

  • ITS does not provide any hardware support for student owned computers.
  • Maintenance of computers purchased from the Bookstore are handled through the Bookstore. Additionally, the Bookstore will service (in some cases) computers purchased elsewhere.
