CALL WAITING & VOICEMAIL
If you hear a CALL WAITING tone ( ring/beep) while engaged in conversation, someone is waiting to speak to you. You may either continue your conversation, and the call will route to voicemail after 15 seconds, or you may put your present call on hold and accept the waiting call. To Accept a Waiting Call

Flash switchhook. The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times then you will hear dial tone.

Press * 4. Present call is held. You hear dial tone.

Hang up handset or depress switchhook. When phone rings go offhook and pick up call.
To Alternate Between Calls

Flash switchhook. The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times. You will hear dial tone.

Press * 4.
*NOTE: Only one caller may call-wait on one line. Subsequent callers will be forwarded to voicemail.
ABBREVIATED DIALING
With this feature you may establish a personal directory of frequently called Internal or External numbers. Just assign each frequently called number a 1 digit reference code from 0 to 9.
To Store Or Change An Abbreviated
- Dial Number
- Lift handset.
- Press # 4.
- Press *.
- Key in 1 digit reference number. You will hear a confirmation tone (2 beeps)
- Key in the entire number you wish to store. You will hear a confirmation tone (2 beeps)
- Hang up handset.
- To Place An Abbreviated Dial Call
- Lift handset.
- Press # 4.
- Key in 1 digit reference number. Call is placed.
NOTE: ABBREVIATED DIAL numbers may be an extension within the IBX, or any valid allowed dialing plan. If the number you wish to store is outside the IBX, you must also store the access code.
TRANSFER / 3-WAY CONFERENCE
The 3-WAY CONFERENCE call can be used to introduce a transfer to both parties, or to set up a conference call among 3 parties:
To Set Up A 3-Way Conference
- Flash switchhook.
- The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times.
- You will hear dial tone.
- Press * 1.
- Present call is held.
- You will hear dial tone.
- Key in internal number.
- Announce transfer and hang up, or continue with steps to set up 3-way conference call.
- Flash switchhook.
- The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times. You will hear dial tone.
- Press * 1.
- All 3 parties are connected.
- If the Number is Busy or Unanswered
- Flash switchhook.
- The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times.
- You will hear dial tone.
- Press * 1. You are connected with original party.
LAST NUMBER REDIAL
The IBX system automatically remembers the last 'outside' (off campus) telephone number dialed and allows that call to be easily redialed.
- Redial Last External Call
- Lift handset.
- Press #9. Last external (off campus) dialed number redialed.
HOLD
- Place A Call On Hold
- Flash Switchhook. The word 'Enter' is repeated 3 times. You will hear dial tone.
- Press * 4. Hold is invoked and Dial tone returned.
NOTE: You have the option of placing another call or hanging up the handset. The word 'Held' is repeated 3 times each time you try to obtain dial tone. To alternate between calls repeat the above steps.
Retrieve A Call On Hold
- Lift handset. 'Held' is repeated 3 times - Dial tone.
- Press * 4. Call is retrieved.
