Introduction to Union College Voicemail System
Your personal voicemail box is assigned to you by Telecommunications. If you are unsure of what your voicemail box number is, please contact Telecommunications at X6411
To activate your voicemail box:
- Dial 8789 from any campus phone (or 518-388-8789)
- Press the # key
- Enter your personal voicemail box number
- Enter your temporary password which is 1111
- At Main menu press 4 for mailbox options
- At the Options menu press 1 to record prompts
- Press 1 for personal greeting, you will hear “nothing recorded, to accept this prompt press 1 to rerecord press 2”
- You must press 2 to re-record the greeting
***If you do not put in a personal greeting callers will be told that you have not set-up your voicemail
- You must press # at the end of your greeting, the system will then play your greeting
- Press 1 to keep your personal greeting
- Press 9 to record your name. You are done.
To change your password:
- From the main menu, press 4 for mailbox options
- Press 9 to change your password
- Press * to return to the main menu
To retrieve messages:
- Dial the voicemail phone number 8789
- Press the # key and enter your mailbox number
- Enter your password.
