U-START DIFFERENCE
Most incubators have a resident (tenant), as well as, a non-tenant (affiliate) aspect of their offerings. Most have a diverse and experienced list of mentors that the start-ups can call upon for advice. The U-Start difference is comprised of extending this mentor program to a dedicated Board of Advisors for each Start-Up. These members are selected specifically for the Start-Up’s needs and their expertise required by the Start-Up.
Similarly, the U-Start Lunch and Learn sessions have been a traditional way for entrepreneurs in the Schenectady area to learn from experts about a topic of interest. These sessions are free and open to the public.
U-Start Mentor Network
In 2007, the Consulting Alliance has established a relationship with U-Start. This enables the U-Start Companies to access the expertise of the many members of the group.

U-Start Lunch and Learn Sessions
These monthly sessions are established so that a recognized expert in a discipline can assist your start up in addressing critical issues. The sessions are highly interactive and are not sales presentations. Sunmark Federal Credit Union will provide the pizza and refreshments at these sessions in 2007.
