Present: Gregg Roth, Diane Keller (for David Cossey), Peter Blankman, Jill Salvo, Doug Klein, Gail Golderman, Tom Smith

1. College web guidelines: The group raised some issues with the college attorney's modifications to the latest draft of the guidelines, namely that the new disclaimer for personal sites implies that we *do* review all other sites on our server. There was a suggestion that we instead address the issue of college responsibility for web sites by putting an official seal on official pages. Tom agreed to discuss this suggestion with the college attorney.

2. World Wide Web Consortium (W3) Web Accessibility Guidelines: Tom presented an overview of the W3 web accessibility guidelines, and informed the board that we need to agree on our policy with regard to the guidelines. There are three levels of compliance, and Tom agreed to assess how much it would take for the official Union site to comply with at least the first level of compliance.

3. www.unionuniversity.edu: Tom received a call from Albany Law School asking whether we wanted to register the domain www.unionuniversity.edu and develop a site for the domain. Web Board agreed that the first step should be reserving the domain www.unionuniversity.edu. Gregg agreed to see if the domain was available, and if so, to reserve it.

4. Electronic portfolios: Doug gave an overview of electronic portfolios. Students at various colleges are using them to build an online portfolio of their undergraduate work, which they can then show to prospective employers. There are several different systems currently in use. Conn College developed its own system in-house, and we hope to have a representative from Conn visit campus in August to talk in more detail about their system.
