Importing Zip Archives

You can upload multiple files at once using the Zip Import tool.  This can significantly cut down on the time it takes to upload many files such as images for a slideshow or pdfs.

Note: Before creating the zip archive rename all files so they don't include spaces.  SPACES ARE NOT WEB SAFE.

Creating Zip Archives

Windows XP / Vista
  1. Select the files and/or folders you wish to archive. This may be done with click and drag selecting or by selecting individual files/folders while depressing the control key (Ctrl).
  2. Right click and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) Folder. If a warning appears, select Yes. A new archive file will be created in the current directory.

  1. Select the files and/or folders you wish to archive. This may be done with click and drag selecting or by selecting individual files/folders while depressing the Command key (also known as the Apple key).
  2. Right-click or control-click on one of the selected files and choose "Compress name of file" or "Compress x Items", where name of file is the name of the file in question and x is the number of files to be archived. An archive file will be created in the current directory with either of the following naming schemes: Archive.zip or name of file.zip.

  1. Select the files and/or folders you wish to archive. This may be done with click and drag selecting or by selecting individual files/folders while depressing the Command key (also known as the Apple key).
  2. Right-click or control-click on one of the selected files and choose "Create Archive of "name of file"" or "Create Archive of x items", where name of file is the name of the file in question and x is the number of files to be archived. An archive file will be created in the current directory with either of the following naming schemes: Archive.zip or name of file.zip.

Uploading Zip Archives

  1. Navigate to the folder within the CMS that you would like your zipped files/folders to be created.
  2. Select Tools > Import > Zip Archive.

  3. Select Browse, locate the Zip Archive on your computer and select Open.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Your files will be unzipped into the folder.
