Union College Personal Safety Alert
Last night (May 25, 2006) at approximately 10 P.M. the victim of a Robbery on campus flagged down the driver of the Campus Trolley on the New Entry Road across from Van Vranken Avenue and told him that he had been robbed. The victim was a non-student city resident who was walking across campus to catch a bus for work. The victim stated that he had been approached by two individuals and one of the two stated that he had a weapon and demanded money. The victim stated that he was robbed of his bus fare. When the victim ran to the approaching trolley, the two subjects fled into Jackson’s Garden. The victim described the two subjects as being male, twenty years of age, between 5’4” and 5’6” tall and wearing black sweatshirts and black jeans. Campus Safety officers and Schenectady Police responded immediately and searched the area without success.
We all have to remain alert to safety when walking on Union's campus.
