Trolley Stops and Operation
The two (2) trolleys run in a continuous route “clockwise” on and around the campus (each trip takes approximately 30 minutes). The routes are staggered so that a trolley will arrive roughly every 15 minutes, except during required driver breaks. Service begins at 6 PM.
On weekends, there will be a relief driver so that there are always two trolleys in service.
To further serve the Union College Community, a dispatcher can be reached by dialing 518-248-5111. The dispatcher will alert the trolley drivers that you are at one of the stop locations. These are designated by a “T” sign. Pickups will be made at these locations only.
Local private taxi service or bus service (CDTA) is available for trips to off route locations, consult the yellow pages for providers.
Trolley One begins its route at Reamer Campus Center, and Trolley Two begins its route at College Park Hall (the Inn).

Bike Patrol
Bike officers patrol campus from early spring through late fall. They are especially well suited to respond quickly to emergencies on the pedestrian-based campus. Their versatility for split level terrain and their quiet, low-profile allows for the prevention of crime on campus. The bike patrols also play an important role in the College Park neighborhood to the west of campus.
There are multiple Bike Patrol Officers in addition to the motorized and foot officers. Bike officers are fully trained Campus Safety officers who have gone to bike patrol school in addition to their regular training. Students can identify the Bike Officers by their vivid yellow and black, custom designed uniforms.
Walking Escort
The student walking escort service is a program administered by Campus Safety. Students in the Work Study Program provide escorts for other students on campus. The service is designed and intended for personal safety; primarily for hours of darkness when a student must travel the campus or get to their residence when they are otherwise unaccompanied.
You are encouraged to call Campus Safety at ext 6386 (518-388-6386 from a cell phone) and one of the student escorts will be sent to your location to pick you up and walk you to your destination.

* Class Transports - Campus Safety officers will transport students who are temporarily immobilized to and from classes. (This service is dependent upon accessibility of students to vehicle and upon officer availability.) Health Services must provide documentation and estimated duration of need to the Campus Safety office.
* Emergency - At anytime
* Many campus officers are certified EMTs, and are available on campus around the clock as part of their regular shift duties.
* UCEMS (Union College Emergency Medical Service) is a student-run and student-staffed organization that provides first aid and EMS coverage to the Union College Campus. They are in service on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night from 9:45 PM to 8:00 AM and for special events. Commercial EMS services are available at other times.
