Actions to Take if Sexual or Gender Harassment Continues
- Keep a Journal. It is very important that you document the harassment. When you recognize that you are being harassed, start keeping a journal. Do not write about anything else in the journal. Do write about each incident of harassment and be sure to include the date, time, and place of the harassment and witnesses to it.
- Get Support. Harassment can take an emotional toll. Ask other students, faculty or staff to document if they too have been victims of harassment and/or if they witnessed your harassment. If you want to talk to someone, click here (make link active) for confidential counseling.
- Confront the Harasser. With a witness present, tell the harasser clearly that you want the harassment to stop. If the harassment continues, follow Union College’s complaint process.
- Follow Union College’s Complaint Process. Union College has multiple options for handling harassment.
