The Union College Scholars Program is a rigorous academic program offered to a select group of outstanding incoming students. Each year, Union College invites its top applicants to apply for the Scholars Program to enhance their educational experience at Union. The program covers the full four years, with each year presenting new opportunities. First-year students take a special research seminar with their fellow Union Scholars. Sophomores conduct research projects under the guidance of a selected faculty supervisor. Many juniors go on terms abroad or participate in a range of service or mentoring programs on campus and in the community. Seniors supplement their senior thesis research with a Senior Colloquium in which they present their own work and invite faculty guest speakers. Throughout all four years Union Scholars may take extra courses to further enrich their education.

The program's director is Prof. Steve Sargent, Department of History.  Prof. Sargent encourages anyone with questions to contact him.
