Internships

A recent survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) indicates that employers extended full-time job offers to nearly 70 percent of their interns.

An internship not only will give you an edge over your competition when job searching, but it is a valuable way to try out a potential career field of interest. Many internships take place over the summer, although part-time internship opportunities with local organizations are a great way to gain experience during the academic year.   • Idealist.org - This is an interactive site where you can search for jobs and internships with a variety of nonprofit, community action and social change organizations.
  • Internships.com - Internships.com provides up-to-date listings of internships in various geographic regions, academic disciplines, and interest areas. Contact the Career Center for the promo code (518-388-6176); then create your own password.

  • Internships USA - This online resource provides information on internships in many geographic locations and interest areas such as government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, social justice concerns, environmental issues, the sports industry, communications fields, museum work, and more.   • Tech Valley Internships - A searchable database of internships in the Capital District area of New York State.
