LGBT Ally Program

It is the mission of the Union College LGBT Ally Program to provide support to LGBT students and employees and to increase the visibility of faculty, administrator, and staff allies.

About the LGBT Ally Program:
  • It is an educationally based program that provides safe spaces for members of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender (LGBT) community at Union.
  • The symbol to the right identifies Union faculty, administration, and staff who are allies and can offer support, information, and resources.
  • The goal is to create passive messages in the campus environment that are supportive of LGBT students and employees, to confront heterosexism and homophobia, and to increase acceptance and tolerance on the Union campus.
  • The program offers support to LGBT students and employees who identify with this invisible form of diversity and helps them to more easily recognize role models and allies.
