Kosher Kitchen
The Kosher Kitchen is a kosher dining facility located in West College. The frequency of meals offered by the kitchen is determined by student interest. Currently, in addition to the provision of festive meals for holidays and special events, the kitchen routinely serves one meal/week ( Shabbat dinner). This academic year (2007-2008) the students, supervised by Bonnie Cramer, did the meal planning and preparation for Shabbat dinner. During Passover there is a week-long kosher-for-Passover dinner plan available to students for an additional fee. Funding for the Kosher Kitchen is provided in part by the college and is supplemented by fund-raisers and donations from parents and alumni.
The advent of Chabad at Union in the fall of 2007 provided weekly Torah Study and a cooperative Rosh Hodesh group with Hillel.
