Sports/Games Clubs and Organizations

Ballroom Dancing Club: Offers an alternative social environment where all Union students may interact, learn a little dancing (jitterbug, swing, mambo, etc.) and have some fun.

Baseball Club

Dutchman Cheer and Spirit Squad:
A year-round club that is actively involved in Union athletics, mainly football and basketball. The team practices each week and cheers at each home football and basketball game. During the 2008-2009 season the Dutchman Cheerleaders hope to become a competitive team.

Cycling: Provides recreational and competitive settings for students to ride their bikes. All students are welcome to enjoy relaxed rides throughout the region. Students also have the opportunity to compete in road, mountain bike and cyclocross races within the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference.

Dance Team: Provides fast-paced entertainment during half-time of home basketball and football games.

Fencing Club: Designed to promote the sport of fencing through instruction and competition.

Baja: Participants build a mini formula 1 style race car and race it against other schools throughout the country. The club is open to anyone who wants to participate, regardless of major or knowledge level.

Golf Club: Designed to be an alternative social event, enhance members' skills and provide the opportunity to play golf.

Karate Club: Students and alumni receive instruction in martial arts, Asian culture, self-defense and physical conditioning. T. Kidachi (6th dan) former Japan national champion instructs, and Professor Donald Thurston assists with related academic affairs.

Kendo Club

Men's Hockey Club: Teaches the fundamentals of ice hockey to Union undergraduate men and also competes with other club teams, providing an alternative to the Union varsity program.

Men's Rugby Club: Sponsors intercollegiate rugby and is open to everyone. Members experience a strong competitive environment while engaging in a fun social activity. (Students should be aware of the risk of physical injury in this activity and as all activities, should be covered by basic health and accident and major medical insurance.)

Outing Club: Sponsors activities such as canoeing, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, rock climbing and spelunking. Trips run almost every weekend with the club supplying most of the equipment.

Skateboarding Club

Ski Club: Brings together individuals who love to ski; perfect for the recreational skier. In addition to attending local ski slopes such as Jiminy Peak, the club also sponsors trips to regional slopes. 

Ultimate Ultimate: The Ultimate Frisbee Club at Union. Organizes trips to tournaments and hold practices every weekday right below the Nott. All are welcome.

Women's Rugby Club: Teaches the fundamentals of the game of rugby to all interested female students. The club competes with other teams, both intercollegiate and club, and is a member of the Upstate Rugby Union.
