Performance and  Art Clubs and Organizations

Ballroom Dancing Club : The purposes of the Union College Ballroom Dancing Club are to create an alternative social environment to the typical Union social scenes where all Union students may interact, learn a little dancing (jitterbug, swing, mambo, etc.) and have some fun.

Dance Team: The Union College Dance Team is a group which provides fast-paced entertainment during half-time of home basketball and football games.

Dutch Pipers: Union College’s only all male a cappella group.  The group performs a wide variety of music - babershop, 50's, popular, ballads, and more. The Pipers perform on campus and travel to other colleges and alumni clubs.  Auditions are held in the fall.

Fashion Show: This club holds an annual fashion show to raise funds for a local charity.

Heavenly Voices: The ensemble is a non-denominational organization which promotes self expression through the singing of contemporary and traditional religious songs. The group performs for the College and the local community. Membership is open to all students regardless of previous experience.

Garnet Ministrelles: First formed in 1986, the Ministrelles is a four-part women's group that sings a variety of music ranging from the music of the fifties to current top 50 hits.

Idol: Union's literary magazine invites literary necromancers of all shapes, forms, and talents to help feed this year's beast. Three issues will be forthcoming, and all writers of poetry and fiction are urged to submit their material for publication to the magazine itself, or, for informal discussion, to the weekly workshop meetings. Photographs and other art work are also solicited.

Mountebanks: The oldest continually operating student theatre organization in the country. This organization is open to anyone interested in getting involved in any aspect of the theater on- and off-stage.

Union College Choir: The choir was founded in 1985 to carry on the fine choral singing begun by the former Men's and Women's Glee Clubs. The group prepares major choral works and standard repertoire for choir, performing at exchange concerts as well as on tours of the U.S. and abroad. The choir is a group of active singers who look forward to a future of continued success. Any interested men or women should contact the Arts Department (X6202).
