The Minerva Program

Our Minerva Program has been featured in the New York Times and other national publications for its innovative approach to blending academic and social life on campus. The seven Minerva Houses are designed to enrich your Union experience by providing unique environments in which to learn, study, dine, debate or simply hang out and get to know each other and your professors better. Each student, faculty member and staff member is assigned to one of the houses, and each house has its own student-run governing council with a generous budget for events.

Some past Minerva House events:

  • African feast
  • Spirituality and sushi
  • Rafting in the Adirondacks
  • Poetry slam
  • Chess tournament
  • "Iron Chef" competition
  • Video game night
  • Big Game Mondays (football, pizza and wings)
  • Waffle Tuesdays
  • Hindi lessons over lunch
  • Sign language seminar
  • "Glee" night at Golub
  • Ping pong with professors
