Research Interests: My Research interests include phylogeny of North American water frogs (Rana) and the evolution of primitive snakes. My students and I are currently studying color polymorphisms in Plethodon cinereus, the red-backed salamander, by sequencing the gene for the Melanocortin Receptor (MC-1-R).
