Alumni

The alumni are a precious component of the department. The corridors of Steinmetz Hall are graced with photographs of nearly 100 years of the graduating classes, transporting us through the époques of the 20th century and into the 21st. It is always a pleasure to see alumni and their families on their visits to Union.

Alumni actively share their work experience with current students through talks in the ECE seminar series, adjunct teaching, support for senior projects and service on the Industrial Advisory Council. A few recent alumni seminar speakers have included:

  • James Libous (IBM)
  • Helen Hanson (Speech Communications Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
  • Michael Mahony (GE Global Research)

Special events:

Alumni Awards are given each year to celebrate the many accomplishments of our engineering and computer science alumni.

A special gathering of women alumnae from engineering and computer science took place during ReUnion 2006, which included a contest for local high school girls.
