Other International Experience Options

The following opportunities, although not affiliated with any official Union College programs, nonetheless offer students excellent opportunities to experience international cultures and learn more about the global economy and work place.

Summer Programs

Summer programs can count towards Linguistic and Cultural Competency credit, provided they are approved ahead of time by the Dean of Studies. Programs of eight weeks or more in duration will not require cognate courses. Shorter programs may require one or two cognates, as determined by the Dean of Studies. Programs of less than three weeks duration will not normally be considered for Section 4 credit.

University Summer Course Grant in Germany

This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of three- to four-week summer language courses at German universities which focus mainly on literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Extensive extracurricular programs complement and reinforce the core material.
