TEACHING AND INTERESTS
All periods of American Literature, especially the Romantic Period and the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries; the relationship between literature and religion; the relationship between literature and popular culture; creative writing, including poetry, fiction and nonfiction.
PUBLICATIONS
Publications include articles on Poe, Dickinson, Fitzgerald, Lovecraft, The Deerslayer and Star Trek, and Transcendentalism and Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as short stories, travel essays, and poetry. Her poetry chapbook In and Out of Eden won the 2001 Permafrost Competition. She was a Fulbright Lecturer in Portugal and in Japan and is currently working on a memoir about living in Japan and a novel about living in Schenectady.
