Statement: "After studying Spanish since middle school in the classroom and in foreign countries this award symbolizes all the hard work I have dedicated to improving my language skills over the years. I look forward to using my abilities in Spanish in New York City inner-city public schools next year by helping Spanish-speaking students learn English as their second language in a similar manner as I learned Spanish."
