Statement: "French has been a love of mine ever since I took my first French class at the age of 11. Over the last ten years that love has grown and evolved. The experiences that the language and culture have provided, both in the classroom with the truly incredible French faculty and during my term abroad in Rennes living with a host family, have proved to be invaluable teachers. They have opened my eyes to the beauty of language, its power to connect people, and the critical importance of international awareness. The joy that I have experienced from speaking and writing in a second language will always be an important part of my time at Union, and I hope to continue exploring that joy as I graduate."
