Kristin Hissong

In Fez, Morocco

Title of thesis in History: "Immigration, Isolation, and Identity: Investigating Modern Moroccan Jewry."

Languages studied at Union: French, German, Hebrew.

She has been accepted to the University of Denver Josef Korbel School of International Studies.

Statement: "It's an honor to be included in this recognition of achievements by students in the modern languages and literatures. Studying language was an interest and intrigue of mine before my years at Union but it truly evolved into a passion and love. I can honestly say, and will tell anyone that will listen, that my term abroad experience to Freiburg and Berlin, Germany absolutely made my Union experience complete. It was arguably my best, most memorable, and most thrilling term at Union and I will never forget it.  I came to Union as a French major, became engulfed with German, and have now included Hebrew as well. Regardless of these languages relevance to my future studies and endeavors, I hope to stay involved and conversational in all and can't wait to go back to Germany!"
