About AKD
Founded in 1920, the AKD International Honor Society recognizes the achievements of exceptional undergraduate and graduate sociology students around the world. At Union, we elect seniors to AKD each spring at a departmental awards ceremony. AKD members are privileged to wear the distinctive aqua AKD cords at graduation and at any event where they dress in academic regalia.
