Adirondack Research Library

Recently donated by the Loines family, the Papers includes images of events and activities at their lake house on Northwest Bay, Lake George in the early 20th century.

Osmond David Putnam (1861-1926) began training to become a minister in the 1880s. To pay for his education, he took photographs with a five by eight inch camera, selling prints to rural residents for whom photography was a novel service.

The maps in the Adirondack Research Library's Historic and Contemporary Map Collection graphically demonstrate the development of the Adirondack Park and efforts to control land use and development from the 18th to the 21st century.
