Early Decision

After considering your college options, you may decide Union is your first choice.  In that case, you should consider applying to Early Decision (ED) to Union.

  • If admitted, Early Decision candidates are committed to attend Union
  • Once a student enrolls at the College, he/she must withdraw all applications to other colleges and universities
  • Early Decision applications are considered at two times during the year:
    • Early Decision I: Common Application and credentials are due by Nov. 15, with decisions announced by Dec. 15
    • Early Decision II: Common Application and credentials arrive by Jan. 15, and decisions announced by Feb. 1
  • To be considered for Early Decision, applicants submit the Early Decision Agreement with the Common Application
  • There are three possible decisions extended to ED applicants: admit, defer to the regular applicant pool or deny
  • Early Decision candidates are favored in the admissions process
  • ED applicants enhance their applications by visiting the campus and interviewing
  • ED applicants for financial aid must complete the CSS Profile by the date of application and the FAFSA between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1
