Why I chose Union...
Originally, I chose to work at Union because of a friend, a Union
graduate, who had loved his experience here. I stay because of all that
Union students make of their college years.
Years at Union:
I've been at Union for 25 years.
College Major:
French and French history (I'm a true Francophile.)
Favorite sports team:
My son's lacrosse team
Favorite Union sports team:
Women's basketball, hands down. They're a terrific team with a lot of spirit. They love to play and they love to win.
Pets:
A cat, Jeter
Favorite vacation destination:
In France, Paris; in Italy, Venice; and in the U.S., Eastham on Cape
Cod, where you can walk for a mile out on the bay during low tide.
Favorite books:
"Let the Great World Spin" by Colum McCann, "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese
Favorite movie:
"Young Frankenstein"
Favorite musicians:
Emerson String Quartet, which play at Union each year. These world-class
musicians joined students and faculty for dinner in a Minerva House.
Favorite Schenectady restaurant:
I love Ambition for its delicious sandwich and local coffee shop flavor, and Cella Bistro for tapas or dinner.
Favorite campus spot:
My office in Grant Hall, which has a spectacular view overlooking the
campus. In the spring, in particular, when the campus blossoms and
bustles, I love watching from the window to see all the students walking
and talking.
Hobbies and interests:
Reading, classical music, opera, cooking
