How do I get the App?
The EverTrue Union College alumni app is available from the iTunes app store & Google Play by searching for Union College.
Compatible Devices & Email Verification:
The Union College Alumni App is available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. It uses email verification and can only be used by confirmed alumni of Union College. Make sure you open the authentication email from the device you are trying to install the app to! If you experience any problems logging in, please contact the Alumni Office at email@example.com or call (518) 388-6168.
How do I log in?
On the main page you will need to enter your email address, in which your name and credentials will be verified in order to gain access. You will then receive an email with further instructions. If your email is recognized but you do not receive an email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder. You will also have to create a 4 digit pin when you first log in. This pin is meant for your protection, and will be required every time the app closes.
What personal information will be available for alumni to see?
The information in the alumni mobile app is comprised of information from the College Database. Once you log in you will also have the chance to sync your profile with LinkedIn, and make any other necessary updates.
How do I edit or hide my personal information displayed in the app?
To edit or hide your personal information in the app you press the "Suggest an Update" button on the bottom of your profile with the necessary changes. If you prefer to only have your email and phone visible, we can do that. If you prefer to only have your name and business info visible, we can do that. You make of it what you want! Please allow some time for your request to be processed as this is not an instant change. Can I opt out of the app & not be part of the alumni community?
Yes, you can contact us at email@example.com prior to Feb. 19, 2013. 2013 and let us know that you do not want to be part of this new alumni community. When you opt out of the app you will not show up in any directories, or be part of the Union professional network on Evertrue.
Can I update my profile information directly in the mobile app?
You can personally update your profile in the alumni app, but it will not happen immediately. In order to better protect the integrity of the alumni database, you cannot change contact information in the mobile app in real time. Once the updated information is received, the Alumni Office will update your profile. To suggest an update for a fellow Union classmate, friend, or family member, click the “Suggest an Update” button at the bottom of their profile.
How do I locate Alumni using the Nearby tool?
The nearby tool has many great functions that allow you to easily reconnect with your fellow alumni. Click on the upper right hand corner and you will see a clipboard that lists out all the alumni in your area by class year. Additionally you can click on the magnifying glass at the bottom of map, which allows you to enter a specific address or location to search. You can also zoom out by pinching two fingers together on the screen, and then drag your finger to the desired place on the map. A garnet "U" pin will display any alumni in that area.
When using the map, how do I know who is in the area and in my class?
Besides clicking on the individual Pins, you can also click the clipboard at the top right hand corner of the map, which will list the all the alumni by class year.
Does EverTrue show my current location?
No, your current location will not be tracked via Evertrue. The nearby function purely pins your home address, and would not show anyone your current location.
Using the directory: Can I search for a list of my classmates?
Yes, go to the "Directory" option and type in the class year in the search field.
Can I email or call another alum directly from the app?
Yes. After you find the person’s profile you will have the option to contact them with whatever information they have available. You do this by simply clicking on the contact information, which will prompt your phone to either open up your email messenger, or by initiating a phone call. If you find a friend or personal contact that doesn't have any of their information, you can also “suggest an update” and make sure their information is up to date.
How do I connect the app with my LinkedIn account?
To connect the app to your LinkedIn account you have to go to the "Settings" option and click on the "manage accounts" selection. This will allow you to log in to LinkedIn and have that information synched with your Evertrue account. Any information that is provided by LinkedIn will appear on the profile screen with the LinkedIn icon to the right. If your work address or anything is different than in the app, send us an update!
Can I easily access Events?
Yes, the events option is linked directly to the Union College events calendar, and also the alumni calendar. You will always know what’s going on around you!
