Representing and Creating the Human Body: Past, Present and Future 2011
Most of us rarely have a chance to step back from our hectic day-to-day lives and engage in thought-provoking discussions with colleagues about contemporary issues. Our alumni symposia are designed to bring together a distinguished group of thinkers and leaders in a given field to participate in the type of energizing exchange of ideas and creative problem-solving for which Union is known. Past attendees have been gratified at how much they enjoyed the opportunity to be in the college setting again and engage intellectually with other innovative thinkers. The recommendations stemming from these symposia, such as last year's symposium on health care reform, have the potential to inform and shape public policy on national issues. In addition to in-depth discussions and breakout sessions, weekend will include opportunities to interact with students and faculty and to experience again all the elements that made academic life at Union so rewarding.
