You may have heard the expression, "What you learn in college is not just what you learn inside the classroom." Say you spend approximately 15 hours per week in your classrooms and labs. This leaves 153 hours per week for eating, sleeping, studying, or whatever else you want to do.
Blue House is a group of students, faculty, and staff who share social and intellectual interests. Blue House members are represented by the Blue House Council. We have a few requests of our members:
- Please look for announcements of Blue House events. Our Communications Chairs, Sid Olefson and Katie Pandolfo, will send you emails and post announcements on the Minerva bulletin board inside the front door of the College Center and on the bulletin board in the House. Please join in those activities that interest you.
- Please stop by the House even at times when nothing is scheduled. Get a cup of coffee, pop some popcorn in the microwave, watch a movie on the high definition TV, or read the New York Times. We would like Blue House to be an enjoyable place where you can have impromptu conversations.
- Please give us your ideas for activities. You can contact our Activities Chairs, Tina Kang and Amar Shah, or attend the House Council weekly meetings. Do you have a favorite author you would like to invite to give a talk at our House, or is there a band you'd like invite to play at the House some Saturday night?
- Please treat all Blue House members with respect. We're inclusive. We welcome ALL, regardless of race, religion, ethnic identity, sexual identity, etc. Civility is important to us.
