Funding for Internships at Non-profit Organizations
For the past several years, Union College has received grant and endowed funds to support students interning at community service non-profit organizations. For summer 2008, funding is provided by the Class of 1973 35th ReUnion Community Service Internship Endowment, the Roger H. Hull Summer Community Service Endowment and the Dr. Scholl Foundation. Students need to secure their own internship and then apply for the funding through the Becker Career Center. For assistance identifying internship opportunities please contact the Becker Career Center.
Previously, students have interned at organizations such as: Habitat for Humanity; Bethesda House; Girls, Inc.; Riverkeeper Inc.; Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp.; National Organization for Women in Washington, DC; Regional Food Bank; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Boys & Girls Clubs; Hospitals; Museums; Schenectady Community Action Program; AIDS Action Committee in Boston; Gilda's Club; U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants; New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty; Haven Grief Counseling Center; Law, Order, & Justice Center; and more!
Application materials may be picked up at the Becker Career Center or can be downloaded below. Contact Rochelle Caruso at the Becker Career Center at 518-388-6176 with any questions.
