Courtney Seymour

Title: Collaboration, Outreach & Initiatives Librarian
Phone: (518) 388-6632

Courtney Seymour became Schaffer Library’s Collaboration, Outreach, and Initiatives Librarian in August 2012. In addition to serving as one of the primary reference and instruction professionals, her roles include: building connections and establishing strong partnerships with other campus units, finding effective ways to promote library services and resources, and generally supporting undergraduate teaching, learning, and growth.

Courtney joined the Union College community in 1994 as a First Year student, and started her career at Schaffer Library in the Reference Department in 2001. She served in additional Public Services roles through 2004. In 2005 she took the position of Head of Collection Development and spent seven years managing print and electronic resources in the library. Her interest in working more closely with the students, faculty, and staff of her alma mater led to her decision to return to Public Services in her current capacity. She lives in Clifton Park with her husband, Pete - also a Union graduate - her sons, Stuart and Eben, and her two boxer dogs.
