Exhibits at Schaffer Library

This site features a selection of both current and past exhibits held in Schaffer Library. Exhibits are an essential component of library services and showcase the wide variety of materials, projects, and types of collaborations that Schaffer offers in keeping with its mission as a teaching library.

Exhibit themes are typically connected to curricular or thematic initiatives and events at the College. They are designed and executed by teams that –  depending on the topic – include faculty, students, alumni, and staff as well as librarians.

Exhibit teams draw upon the extraordinarily rich array of resources available to them through the library, including: rare books; manuscripts and images from the College archives; government documents; thought-provoking material from the general, special, and digital collections; items acquired through the generosity of the library’s donors; and, on occasion, objects on loan from College partners. Contextual information and connecting narratives are provided by the particular team for each exhibit.
