How to : How to Print from Microforms

The microform readers in the library lobby offer viewing, printing, and (on one of them) free scanning.  The printing charge per page is ten cents (coins only).  Change for paper money is available at the Circulation Desk.  Please refer technical questions or problems to the Reference Desk.

One microform reader is connected to a workstation for free microform scanning.  Users may email out scanned pages or save them to a memory stick.  Instructions are posted at the machine.  Please ask for help at the Reference Desk if needed.

To copy a page from microfiche or microfilm:

  1. Position the text to be copied within the black frame on the reader screen, using the flat dials under the screen to focus and to adjust print size.

  2. Insert change in coin slot (located either on the left side of the reader or at the top of the free-standing change box, depending on the machine).

  3. To print, press green button at the bottom of the reader keypad.  Printout will appear in the printer tray of the Minolta Printer located between the readers.
