Areas of expertise: American Literature, especially of the 19th and 20th centuries. Star Trek, all five live-action series and all of the films, including Star Trek [2009]. Most of her published work has focused on Star Trek, Edgar Allan Poe and Emily Dickinson. She can also speak about the Portuguese-American experience, since she is half Portuguese, grew up in a R.I. town with a large Portuguese population, and lived in Portugal.
