Valedictorian: Caroline M. Tulp
Hometown: Acton, Mass.
Major: Political Science
Activities: A volunteer at the Kenney Community Center, Tulp has also tutored elementary school children at the C.O.C.O.A. House in Schenectady where she served as vice president this year. As a freshman and sophomore, she played for the women’s field hockey team, and she has worked as a Gatekeeper, giving campus tours. She spent a term abroad in Central Europe and held an internship at Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s office in Washington, D.C. Tulp is a member of Catholic Student Association. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and the political science honors society, Pi Sigma Alpha.
Plans after graduation: Tulp will work in the risk assurance division at Price Waterhouse Cooper in Boston.
Salutatorian: Andrew N.T. Churchill
Hometown: Oceanside, N.Y.
Majors: Political Science and French
Activities: The president of Student Forum and the French Club, Churchill has also served as a Model UN head delegate, Pi Sigma Alpha Journal editorial board member, and Club Hockey captain. He was involved with the Scholars Steering Committee and worked as a senior Admissions intern and ROAR volunteer. Churchill spent a term abroad in Rennes, France, and a term interning in the House of Representatives. He conducted summer research with Professor Philip Nicholas in political science and completed two senior projects, one in each of his majors. Churchill is a member of the National Classics Honor Society and the National Political Science Honor Society. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Plans after graduation: Churchill will return to Rennes, France, and represent Union abroad as the Rennes Lecturer at the University of Rennes.
