Maria Dreeszen ’14 is this week’s Kenney Community Center's Volunteer of the Week.
Dreeszen is a leader of the Junior Science Program where she organizes science experiments and projects for fourth-grade students. She has also volunteered on John Calvin Toll Day and UCARE Day. Additionally, Dreeszen is the co-president of Colleges Against Cancer, a club which raises cancer awareness and organizes the annual Relay for Life event.
She is also a Posse Scholar and resident advisor in Fox Hall, as well as co-president of MEDLIFE, vice president of the Catholic Student Association and secretary of the Pre-Health Society. She is also a member of Wold Minerva House Council.
“Maria is a great student leader. She stepped in to get the Junior Science Program restarted this winter and has done an outstanding job,” said Janet Sweeney, program coordinator.A Revere, Mass. native, Dreeszen is a biology major and dance minor who said she is one day working to become a pediatric dentist.
