An article by Daniel Mosquera, associate professor of Spanish and director of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies program, was published in the most recent volume of the Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies. “Media, Technology and Participation: Life in its Duration, Toward a New Evanescence?” examines the political economy of image production in the context of participatory ethnography, photography and filmmaking in two different film and photography projects using street children in Mexico and Colombia.
Megan Ferry, associate professor of Chinese and Asian Studies, recently published two articles, “Between Realism and Romanticism: Queering Gender Representation in Cui Zi’en’s Night Scene” and “Chinese Travels to Africa: Cultural Representation in the Age of Globalization.” Ferry also served as a panel moderator for the annual Social Theory Forum’s “Critical Theory and the Politics of Visual Representation” held last month at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
