Andrew Rapoff, associate professor of mechanical engineering, co-authored a paper with Scott McGraw of Ohio State University and David Daegling of the University of Florida. “The Relationship Between Bending Stress and the Shape of Maxillary Canines in Cercopithecoid Monkeys” was published in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. The authors found that canine shape functions to resist a variety of loads associated with a range of behaviors, particularly in males. This work was supported by NSF grants. 

Stephen Berk, the Henry and Sally Schaffer Professor of Holocaust and Jewish Studies, led a film discussion of “Sharon” recently at Congregation Agudat Achim. The award-winning documentary looks at the late Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, detailing his thought process in later years through private footage. 

Tim Porter, director of the Bookstore, was interviewed for a story in The College Store, a publication for the National Association of College Stores. He talked about the business of stocking the store with high-demand championship gear.
