Volunteer of the Week: Danielle Stansky '15

Danielle Stansky ’15 is the Kenney Community Center’s Volunteer of the Week.

A biology and sociology interdepartmental major and a member of the Leadership in Medicine Program, Stansky is a native of Dix Hills, N.Y.

On campus, Stansky serves as the president of Best Buddies and the community service chair of Chabad, through which she started the Shabbat to Share program. A member of Delta Delta Delta, Stansky is the organization’s PanHellenic Representative and sits on the PanHellenic Council as the vice president of standards. Additionally, Stansky volunteers with Good Eats.

Off campus, she volunteers in the Pediatric Emergency Room at the North Shore LIJ Hospital and works at an internship as a verbal therapist for an autistic individual.

“I think it is great to pair college students with individuals in the community that have special needs because it is beneficial not only to the buddies, but also to us students,” Stansky said. “We gain a great deal from this service and I really enjoy spending time with my buddy, Jill!”
