Minerva Mentors are upper class students selected for their strong academic backgrounds and personal achievements and trained to assist first year students in making the transition to Union and in reaching their full academic potential.
Every first year student is assigned a Minerva Mentor based on their Minerva House. Each mentor serves as an informed resource for students on academically related questions and concerns. Students often find it helpful to ask fellow students advice and the Minerva Mentors program supplements the advising system by providing students with valuable, first-hand information on course selection, academic requirements, academic resources, as well as what it takes to be successful at Union.
Minerva Mentors maintain weekly contact with students, are available for individual appointments and sponsor academic workshops throughout the year.
