Lorie serves as the librarian/archivist for the collections of the Adirondack Research Library at the Kelly Adirondack Center at Union College. She oversees all management and access activities for the collections, actively solicits donations of materials for the collections and works closely with researchers using the materials in the collections. In addition, she works collaboratively with the Director and the Events Coordinator in planning and implementing programs at the Center. She also serves as the Continuing Resources Librarian at Union’s Schaffer Library where she oversees the handling of and access to the Library’s subscriptions in all formats- print, microform and electronic. She is also a Local History Librarian at Saratoga Springs Public Library.
Lorie came to Union in 2000, and was appointed Associate Librarian in 2007. Prior to coming to Union, she was the long term Director of a program called Kaydeross House in Saratoga Springs, NY which provides services for emotionally disturbed adolescents and their families. Originally from western Massachusetts, Lorie graduated from Berkshire Community College, the now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a BA in Sociology and the SUNY- Albany College of Information and Computing with a Masters in Library Science.
