The University at Albany, a member of the America East Conference, invites applications for a full-time (12-month) position as Assistant Men’s & Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Coach. The Assistant Coach will assist the Director of the Men’s & Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country in all phases of a Division I program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; overall program administration; alumni, community and media relations; practice and meet coaching and compliance with University, NCAA and America East Conference rules and regulations. This position will also serve as liaison to the Athletic Academic Support program.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Dept. of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Previous successful collegiate coaching experience
- Successful recruiting experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules are essential.
- Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Division I successful collegiate coaching experience
