The Northeastern University is a national leader in cooperative education in which students alternate between academic study and work experiences. This is a new full time, non-tenure track faculty position working with Master’s level students in the College of Computer and Information Science. The Assistant Cooperative Education Coordinator will: promote and present concepts of the theory and practice of cooperative education to students and employers, provide students with relevant educational work opportunities, coordinate with employers by working with supervisors, executives and human resources contacts, develop new and maintain ongoing co-op positions for students in the College of Computer and Information Science. In addition, the Coordinator will be expected to: maintain records of student experiences, collaborate with college and co-op education faculty and administration to help students integrate their co-op and academic education, coordinate with other co-op education faculty, administration, academic advisors and staff from the International Student and Scholar Institute, perform co-op teaching and be involved in departmental, college, and university service as assigned by the Director of Cooperative Education in the college.

Qualifications

Master’s degree required and a minimum of three years of industry work experience preferred. Experience with international students preferred. Knowledge of cooperative education is a plus and excellent written and oral communication skills expected. Interest in the field of technology is required. Experience working with a diverse staff/student population, and a demonstrated commitment to achieving and maintaining diversity in the workplace required. He/she must have personal transportation and a valid driver’s license, as travel is required.
