Provide career advising and programming for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS), as well as alumni of SPCS, the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business and Leadership Studies. The Assistant Director represents the office to a broad range of constituents, including students, employers, faculty, staff, families and alumni to fulfill the goals and mission of the Office of Alumni and Career Services.  The role develops a strategic and coordinated approach to career services for SPCS and experienced alumni, including formation of annual comprehensive career advising and programming goals.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Masters in Education/Counseling/Higher Education Administration/Adult Learning or related field or equivalent experience; a minimum of 2 years experience in career services, college recruiting, or related field. Career advising and programming experience and thorough understanding of career development theories, particularly with adult learners or experienced candidates; Extensive knowledge of career management strategies; Familiarity with career needs of alumni and continuing studies students; Team building and collaborative abilities; Strategic planning and implementation; Goal-setting; Oral and written communication skills; Experience in outcomes and program assessment and evaluation; Thorough understanding of cutting-edge career services technologies; MBTI certification preferred.
