Assistant Director, Employer Relations

The University at Albany seeks applicants to serve as the Assistant Director of Employer Relations.  The Assistant Director will work with the Career Services team to oversee our on-campus recruiting program and manage our job/internship database.  In addition, the Assistant Director will assist the Associate Director of Employer Relations in developing, planning and managing the activities of building and maintaining relationships with current and potential employers.

- Manage the job/internship database as well as the On-Campus Recruiting program

- Manage employer visits for interviews, information sessions, class visits, employer panels, and other recruitment opportunities

- Oversee all aspects of preparation and planning for career fairs

- Serve as a liaison to the Alumni Association in further developing mutually beneficial partnerships to assist our students

- Conduct presentations to students regarding on-campus recruiting eligibility

- Travel occasionally to visit employers  as well as attend Association, Chamber and other various networking functions both locally and regionally

- Assist in tracking and reporting all employer outreach and activity as well as position postings

- Assist in preparing written communication, reports, and multimedia materials for distribution to constituents and stakeholders

- Works with the Career Services office and other University constituents on the SUNY Works program which includes enhancing internship, volunteer and job opportunities for students



- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Career Services, Corporate Recruiting, Human Resources and/or a related field

- Strong presentation and public speaking skills

- Demonstrated experience in budget management and event planning

- Excellent relationship and communication

- Must be able to set priorities and meet deadlines

- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population
