The Associate Administrator will spend approximately 70% of his/her time in post-award administration for the Center for Policy Research. These duties include: working with faculty and staff to prepare and execute payroll, purchasing, and travel documents for submission to Research Foundation (RF) departments; interfacing with RF departments as needed to insure compliance with Foundation and Federal government regulations; providing interpretation of rules and regulations within a legal context and contract review both during contract negotiation and afterwards as needed for interpretation regarding specific occurrences; supplying support for legal and policy research and training for projects involving strategic trade controls; serving as a conduit for information from the RF departments to faculty and staff stakeholders; assisting as needed in preparation of reports to external sponsors; tracking expenditures to insure budgetary compliance; working with the University’s travel agents pre-travel to prepare flight itineraries and secure low-cost travel options; negotiating with venues, language interpretation companies and other parties, as needed, to facilitate logistics for project events.
 
The Associate Administrator will spend approximately 30% of his/her time for Rockefeller College in preparatory work on proposals including all pre-award phases from solicitation review and budget development through editing the draft documents, and in editorial assistance for technical reports, journal articles and other products of externally funded awards, as well as other duties assigned by the Director of CPR where needed.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

- Proficiency using Excel

- Budget preparation experience including fringe benefit and indirect cost calculations for multiple periods

- Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with a culturally diverse population.

 

Preferred qualifications:

- Law degree

- Editorial experience

- Proposal experience for external sponsors
