Description
develops the strategic goals, objectives and assessment plan for the Career Services office, provides assistance to students throughout their tenure at the university and beyond in developing, assessing, and implementing life-long career planning options that support contributions toward the well-being of society. The Director supervises staff, manages the departmental budget, and participates directly in career counseling and educational presentations. The Director cultivates close working relationships with students, faculty, alumni, and employers, and provides leadership within the Student Affairs division. The Director develops and maintains effective community relations through joint programs, volunteer work, and membership in local civic organizations.
Qualifications
master’s degree and five years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in Career Services leadership; excellent interpersonal skills; expertise with career services technology; appreciation for the liberal arts; and, a rich understanding of the constant changes in the world of work which impact the department’s mission. Two or more years outside of the higher education field is preferred. This is a full-time, twelve-month, benefits-eligible position reporting to the Vice President of Student Life.
